Established in 1883 in San Francisco as a wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber to ship builders in the Bay, the J.E. Higgins group of companies has grown by increasing market share, expanding geographic coverage, adding product lines and through acquisition.
Today we span four businesses serving a variety of markets. Golden State Flooring serves the flooring dealer and contractor markets. Higgins Hardwoods serves cabinet shops as well as other industries relying on lumber and plywood products. The Pella Window & Door Company is the direct distributor for Pella products in Northern California and Oregon. And, Pacific Coast Laminating is a custom laminate panel manufacturer.
